Words: Reason

Posted on October 28, 2020October 25, 2020 by Pam R

Reason: (n) 1. a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event.

When people hate you for no reason,
remember God loves you for no reason.
(Unknown)

One good reason why we should pray is because
God can do more in five seconds…
than what we can do for ourselves in five years.
(Unknown)

Reason: (n) 2. the power of the mind to think, understand, and form judgments by a process of logic.

Reason is itself a matter of faith. It is an act of faith
to assert that our thoughts have any relation to reality at all.
Gilbert K. Chesterton

Faith is a sounder guide than reason.
Reason can go only so far, but faith has no limits.
Blaise Pascal

No passion so effectually robs the mind
of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear.
Edmund Burke

When human reason has exhausted every possibility,
the children can go to their Father and receive all they need. …
For only when you have become utterly dependent upon prayer and faith, only when all human possibilities have been exhausted,
can you begin to reckon that God will intervene and work His miracles. Basilea Schlenk

Reason: (v) think, understand, and form judgments by a process of logic.

Most of our so-called reasoning consists in
finding arguments for going on believing as we already do.
James Harvey Robinson

Never let the future disturb you.
You will meet it, if you have to,
with the same weapons of reason
which today arm you against the present.
Marcus Aurelius

When I was a child, I spoke about childish matters, for I saw things like a child and reasoned like a child. But the day came when I matured, and I set aside my childish ways. For now we see but a faint reflection of riddles and mysteries as though reflected in a mirror, but one day we will see face-to-face. My understanding is incomplete now, but one day I will understand everything, just as everything about me has been fully understood.
1 Corinthians 13:11-12 The Passion Translation

Someday everything will all make perfect sense.
So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile trough the tears,
and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason. (Unknown)
