Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you’re on their side, working with them and not against them. Philippians 4:4-5a The Message
Right after I read that passage, I read an article in the Washington Post about help and civility. (Read the whole article here.) Kathleen Parker expresses her amazement at one man’s smiling service after she encountered a series of delays and frustrations.
The man’s name was Christian. “I smile because other people are going to have a bad day,” he said. “But I’m not going to have a bad day because I’m going to change someone’s day.”
I was struck because my name is “Christian,” too. At least, it should be. Sometimes I forget that in the midst of my own frustrations, interruptions and annoyances. Yet,
Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God. Ephesians 6:6-7 The Message
Everyone knows how to smile.
It’s one of the greatest gifts God has given us.
A smile makes people feel good, and people looks so beautiful when they smile.
Joyce Meyer
Did you make someone smile today?
You’ve still got time.
