Much has been written about friendship; every word of it applies to God:
*A friend is someone you can count on to keep a promise.
The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does. Psalm 145:13b NIV
*Friends affirm life.
[Jesus says], “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” John 10:10b MSG
*True friends are those rare people who come to find you in dark places and lead you back to the light.
But you are God’s chosen and special people. You are a group of royal priests and a holy nation. God has brought you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9a Contemporary English Version (CEV)
*A true friend is someone who sees the pain in your eyes while everyone else believes the smile on your face.
We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Father Who shows us loving-kindness and our God Who gives us comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3 New Life Version (NLV)
*True friends aren’t the ones who make your problems disappear. They are the ones who won’t disappear when your facing problems.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Psalm 23:4 NLT
*Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they are always there.
[Jesus says], “And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b NLT
*Close friends are truly life’s treasures. Sometimes they know us better than we know ourselves. With gentle honesty, they are there to guide and support us, to share our laughter and our tears. Their presence reminds us that we are never really alone. (Vincent van Gogh)
Yet I still belong to you;
you hold my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
leading me to a glorious destiny. Psalm 73: 23, 24 NLT
A friend loves at all times Proverbs 17:17a NIV
When we were utterly helpless, with no way of escape, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners who had no use for him. Even if we were good, we really wouldn’t expect anyone to die for us, though, of course, that might be barely possible. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:6-8 The Living Bible
