“The Lord is my Rock,” a secure cornerstone,
My hope is established upon Him alone.
Though many may stumble and flounder on sand,
While my feet are set upon Him, I will stand.
“The Lord is my Fortress,” in Him I will hide,
The storms all around cannot touch me inside.
No foe will successfully march on this Tower:
My stronghold is held my Lord’s awesome power.
“The Lord is my Shepherd,” I go where He leads.
He loves me and guides me and meets all my needs.
In peace I may slumber and nevermore fear:
The vigilant Shepherd remains ever near.
“The Lord is my Shield,” I’m sheltered behind,
In midst of the battle true safety I find.
When arrows and darts from the enemy fall,
This Shield of faith is an unfailing wall.
“The Lord is my Light,” I will not go astray:
The lamp for my feet gives me light for my way.
His word of command bids the darkness be gone:
The radiant Son brings my soul a new dawn.
“The Lord is my Song,” a sweet melody new,
A ballad created for only us two.
I join in the anthem and carol my part:
The harmony He has composed in my heart.
“The Lord is my King,” my allegiance I owe.
I’ll faithfully travel where He bids me go.
‘Til homeward I turn at the setting of sun,
To hear my Lord saying, “Dear servant, well done.”
