In my experience. this quote applies to caring for a house. It takes all my effort just to keep on top of things. Want to get ahead of the curve? Just run faster.

Home maintenance is also the subject of this song by the British comedy duo of Flanders and Swann. Growing up, my family of origin loved listening to the works of lyricist, actor and singer Michael Flanders (1922–1975) and composer and pianist Donald Swann (1923–1994). We still do. The song’s words reflect the British 1950’s, but as they say, “the more things change, the more they stay the same.”
