“Life is not easy and comfortable, with nothing ever going wrong as long as you buy the right product. It’s not true that if you have the right insurance everything is going to be fine. That’s not what it’s really like. Terrible things happen. And those are the things we learn from.”
And even though Jesus was God’s Son, he had to learn from experience what it was like to obey when obeying meant suffering. Hebrews 5:8 Living Bible
(So why should it be any different for me? PR)
“It is when things go wrong, when good things do not happen, when our prayers seem to have been lost, that God is most present. We do not need the sheltering wings when things go smoothly. We are closest to God in the darkness, stumbling along blindly.”
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear … Psalm 46:1-2a King James Version (KJV)
(Now more than ever. PR)
“I cannot believe that God wants punishment to go on interminably any more than does a loving parent. The entire purpose of loving punishment is to teach, and it lasts only as long as is needed for the lesson. And the lesson is always love.”
We need have no fear of someone who loves us perfectly; his perfect love for us eliminates all dread of what he might do to us. If we are afraid, it is for fear of what he might do to us and shows that we are not fully convinced that he really loves us. 1 John 4:18 Living Bible (TLB)
(Are we being punished? I don’t think so. Are we being schooled? Definitely. Are we loved? Always. PR)
Easter is always the answer to “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me!”
(Christ went through what He went through surrounded by hate so we could go through what we must go through surrounded by Love. PR)
God is over all things, under all things; outside all;
within, but not enclosed;
without, but not excluded;
above, but not raised up;
below; but not depressed;
wholly above, presiding;
wholly without, embracing;
wholly within, filling. — Madeleine L’Engle
