I took advantage of a free half-hour this weekend to do a little light weeding. Starting in the back and working my way to the front, I was bending and pulling when I became aware of a noise overhead. A robin, perched on the side peak of the house next door, was scolding me loudly.
“Relax,” I told him. “I’ll be out of your way in a few minutes.”
He continued to scold. Did he think I was stealing his worms?
“Okay, you can have the garden.” And I walked around to the front.
The scolding continued. The bird had followed me and was now perched on the peak at the front of the house.
I finished my task and went back inside, and the robin went back to doing robin things, now that he no longer had to worry about the human in his garden.

Here is the bottom line: do not worry about your life.
Don’t worry about what you will eat or what you will drink.
Don’t worry about how you clothe your body.
Living is about more than merely eating,
and the body is about more than dressing up.
Look at the birds in the sky. They do not store food for winter.
They don’t plant gardens.
They do not sow or reap—
and yet, they are always fed because your heavenly Father feeds them.
And you are even more precious to Him than a beautiful bird.
If He looks after them, of course He will look after you.
Worrying does not do any good;
who here can claim to add even an hour to his life by worrying?
