The New Year has always been a time to plan the future. Most of us are accustomed to making New Year’s Resolutions: eat healthier, exercise more, save money, read more, get organized, etc. Maybe first, though, it would be helpful to reflect back, recalling what went right for us in 2019, what sparked joy.
I took a look at the old calendar to remember those joys, and found that:
I used my skills to help friends organize their spaces.
I babysat an adorable little boy with the cutest giggle.
I walked a 6K for charity (and spent the next day in bed!).
I started a blog; and people read it! (I’m totally blown away by that.)

Now I can see 2020 more clearly (see what I did there?)
and I know what I want from this new year:
I resolve to do a lot more of the things that spark joy for me.
(Marie Kondo would approve.)

So now it is your turn. What happened in 2019 that sparked your joy? Please comment. No judgment. Joy is meant to be shared.
We celebrated my mom’s 86th Birthday, my dad’s 88th birthday, I took part in The Mitten Program at school and have stayed in remission for CML at half my treatment dose for a year!
Oh, Sue! Great milestones and great news! Three cheers for remission!
A great surge of joy rushed through my entire being the moment I saw the sudden reflection of the rising sun fill my dark kitchen, I heard myself laugh out loud. I asked the empty room,. “Who knows what wonders are around the next corner of any one’s life? ” Then a thought occurred . It seemed to me that it was my ‘interpretation’ of the event that caused my rush of joy. Perhaps that joy, or some of it, may not come from outside a person, but is born within. Then, like a hidden spring, it shoots outward towards someone else who may be deep in a dark place in their own life. Joy calling forth joy? .
Hmm. I must think about this bit more.
.
Good thoughts. I want to think about that, too.
