Go?
For months we have living with “Stay home, wash your hands, wear a mask.” We have learned caution, keeping our distance from others.
Now begins Phase 2, and “Stay home” is modified. Yet the virus is not gone. So how do we stay safe? No one is saying it’s time to stop washing hands, wearing masks and keeping our distance. Let’s be wise and continue protecting ourselves and each other.
The wise person shows others how to be wise.
Proverbs 11:30b International Children’s Bible (ICB)
But we are all making this up as we go. How do we know what is wise? Fortunately, we don’t have to guess. We can freely ask for Guidance.
Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm 25:4-5 New International Version (NIV)
In this complex world, we all need God’s Divine wisdom and guidance more than we ever have before.
Neale Donald Walsch
And we have the Holy Spirit, Who speaks truth into our hearts and minds.
The Holy Spirit is coming. He will lead you into all truth.
John 16:12a New Life Version (NLV)
So, wash hands, wear masks, keep distance, and listen for God’s guidance by praying and trusting. And obeying.
The most difficult thing I have ever had to do
is follow the guidance I prayed for.
Albert Schweitzer
We have been so isolated that it is tempting to rush back to physical closeness. But as my mother told my brother, “You take care of me by taking care of you. I take care of you by taking care of me.” Sounds like a good plan to me.
So, take care of yourself. Please. And,
May the God who gives hope fill you with great joy.
May you have perfect peace as you trust in him.
May the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope.
Romans 15:12-14 New International Reader’s Version (NIRV)
O Lord,
You are the light that guides my feet.
You are the map that gives me direction.
You are the peace that makes me strong.
You are the leader whom I faithfully follow.
May your light illuminate my life
And your guidance bring direction.
May I find inspiration in your word
And peace in my heart as I follow you.
Amen.
