All of my windows have suncatchers in them, each one with a chandelier pendant that casts rainbows all around the room when the sun’s rays hit them. I love rainbows. That’s why all my window have suncatchers.
Some mornings, though, when I open the curtains, I accidently set the suncatchers to swinging wildly. And while that is happening, there are no rainbows. So I reach up and gentle them back into stillness. And suddenly the rainbows return. Did I mention that I love rainbows?

Sometimes when life events or scary news knock me askew, I swing wildly from one fear to another. I’m not much good when that happens. But that’s when God reaches down and gently quiets me with a “Peace, be still.” I calm down, ready again to be what God has created me to be. Filled with His light and joy, I almost feel I could cast rainbows all around me, too.
