Praying God’s Words

Posted on April 8, 2022April 7, 2022 by Pam R

Psalm 23 New Living Translation

1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.

“Thank You, Lord, for taking care of me
and seeing to it that my needs are met.”

2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.

“Thank You for giving me food and water,
and for letting me securely rest.”

3     He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
    bringing honor to his name.

“Thank You for lending me Your strength,
and for guiding me to where I need to go so I can bring glory to You.”

4 Even when I walk
    through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.

“Thank You that there is no place can I go
and no danger I might face but You are there with me.
You alone keep me safe.”

Your rod and your staff
    protect and comfort me.

“Thank You for protection –
and for Your correction when I stray from the path meant for me.”

5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.

You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
    My cup overflows with blessings.

“No matter what is happening in my life,
Your blessings are beyond all expectation.
I stand amazed! Thank You so much!”

6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
    forever.

“Because I know Who You are and have experienced Your care,
I am confident that You will continue to bless and keep me until I am finally home with You.”

Blessed are You, Lord, my God, King of the Universe,
Who always keeps His promises.”
