More than Ever

Posted on March 15, 2025 by Pam R

“I looked for someone who might rebuild
the wall of righteousness that guards the land.
I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall
so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.
So now I will pour out my fury on them,
consuming them with the fire of my anger.
I will heap on their heads the full penalty for all their sins.
I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!”
Ezekiel 22:30-31 NLT

***

Now, more than ever, our nation is in desperate need of repentance,
healing, and God’s grace to overcome the hatred,
immorality, and nihilism that seem to grip our land.
In times like these, we are called to stand in the gap,
praying fervently for our country, our leaders, and our fellow citizens.
Scripture reminds us that “if my people, who are called by my name,
will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”
(2 Chronicles 7:14).
Let us approach God in humility, asking Him to restore and bless our nation,
to pour out His mercy, and to guide us back to righteousness.

Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief.
Psalm 143:1 NIV

***

Heavenly Father,
We come before you with a plea for justice to prevail
in our beloved nation.
Let righteousness and fairness be the cornerstones of our society.
Empower our leaders to make just decisions
and uphold the rights and dignity of all citizens.
Grant us the courage to stand up for what is right
and to work tirelessly towards a more just nation,
where every individual is treated equitably.
May your divine justice reign supreme in our land.
Amen
