No one is probably happier than I am that last Friday is over. I thought I was completely calm going into the ear procedure, but my back broke out in spasms that lasted the whole day. My body apparently knew something my mind didn’t.
The actual procedure was over in minutes. Initially, I noticed an increase in dizziness. Then I realized that my voice sounded … normal! I was hearing with both ears! It was amazing! There is still healing to do, but I think I can stop worrying about that light at the end of the tunnel.

From time-to-time I’ve heard people ask, “Which of the five senses would you give up?” Over the last few months, I have had issues with 3 of them. Taste and smell disappeared with Covid. And hearing became difficult until last Friday. So, my answer to that question is, “None. I like things to work the way they were created to.”
As it seems, thank God, that they finally do.

I will offer You my grateful heart,
for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe.
You have approached even the smallest details with excellence;
Your works are wonderful;
I carry this knowledge deep within my soul.

Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see—
how good God is.
Blessed are you who run to him.
Worship God if you want the best;
worship opens doors to all his goodness.
Psalm 34:8-9 The Message

Creation is a book proclaiming the Creator.
It is a book of beauty that our intellect reads,
but through the passageways of our five senses.
