In midnight’s dark or morning’s light,
In winter’s cold or summer’s heat,
In deferred hope or promise bright,
In victory or cruel defeat.
In crippling pain or best of health,
In prolonged drought or springtime rain,
In poverty or untold wealth,
In hurtful loss or richest gain.
In bitter tears or laughter’s song,
In lively youth or well-worn age,
In daunting fears or courage strong,
In welcomed peace or battle’s rage.
In all of life I understand:
My days are placed in God’s strong hands.
(unknown)
Fear not [there is nothing to fear],
for I am with you;
do not look around you in terror and be dismayed,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties,
yes, I will help you;
yes, I will hold you up and retain you
with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.
