On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
“Woman, [a term of respect] why do you involve me?” Jesus replied.
“My hour has not yet come.”
His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Mary knew who Jesus was. So, in a crisis, she went to Him. From the text, it looks like He rebuffed her. (He didn’t.) She was not discouraged, though, because she knew Him.
She didn’t walk away. She didn’t tell Him what to do. She simply alerted the servants, leaving the rest to Him.
Then she watched in expectation.
