When asked, I always say my favorite season is the one we are currently in – but only the first 2 months. Then I find myself pushing for the next season. May is not quite warm enough. August is too warm. November is gloomy, chilly and dark comes early.
February is the exception.
February is the border between winter and spring.
Terri Guillemets
February has savvy rodents, Love of all kinds, and Presidents – past and present. Sometimes, it has Chinese New Year (good food) or Lent (abstaining for the soul’s good). Most years it is a not-too-long 4 weeks. Even the additional Leap Year’s Day gets celebrated.
“February teaches us the lesson of hope that there is
a sunny day at the end of every freezing night.”

While it is February one can taste the full joys of anticipation.

Yet life is measured by passing time. Eventually the clock runs out. The psalmist understood that. He wrote, Lord, help me to realize how brief my time on earth will be.
Help me to know that I am here for but a moment more. Psalm 39:4 Living Bible
“Sooner or later, however, we must realize there is no station in this life,
no one earthly place to arrive once and for all. The journey is the joy.
The station is an illusion – it constantly outdistances us.
Yesterday belongs to a history, tomorrow belongs to God.
Yesterday’s a fading sunset, tomorrow’s a faint sunrise.
Only today is there light enough to love and live.”
Robert Hastings
“It’s another day and I’m alive and so are you. Isn’t that wonderful?”
Wayne Gerard Trotman
So, let’s celebrate what we can, while we can, however we can, starting right now.
In February.
Because, why not?
