Eternity

Posted on June 29, 2021June 27, 2021 by Pam R

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 New Living Translation

Though we cannot experience our life as an endless present,
we are eternal in God’s eyes; that is, in our deepest reality.  C. S. Lewis

The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. Deuteronomy 33:27a New Living Translation

My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never die. No one will steal them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than anyone. No one can steal them out of my Father’s hand. John 10:27-29 New International Reader’s Version

We view our slight, short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison, because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 The Passion Translation

Many of the lessons we are to learn in mortality
can only be received through the things we experience and sometimes suffer.
And God expects and trusts us to face temporary mortal adversity with His help
so we can learn what we need to learn and ultimately become what we are to become in eternity.
David A. Bednar

You have already given me authority over all people so that I may give the gift of eternal life to all those that you have given to me. Eternal life means to know and experience you as the only true God, and to know and experience Jesus Christ, as the Son whom you have sent. John 17:2-3 The Passion Translation

Once a man is united to God, how could he not live forever?  C.S. Lewis
