At dinner the first night of the cruise, there was a chair missing from our table. The staff was expecting someone in a wheelchair. Me. I didn’t anticipate that and had left the chair at the dining room entrance, and walked to the table, something I continued to do throughout the cruise to avoid having to drive my way through tight spaces. And lots of people.
Several times, especially in our first few meals, the waitstaff asked Amy if she was allergic to almonds. At one time she thought so, but it turned out not to be true. The waiters asked at several meals before they changed it in their database.
It amazed me how much they knew – or thought they knew – about us. But they didn’t know everything. There is only One Who does.

O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
Psalm 139:1-6 NLT

The God who loans you life sees your every move,
hears each word you speak, and knows your every thought.
And this is a good thing. You are seen by God.
Noticed.
Known.
