Ask for Wisdom

Posted on January 4, 2022January 3, 2022 by Pam R

WISDOM: The quality of being wise; power of judging rightly and following the soundest course of action, based on knowledge, experience, understanding, etc.; good judgment; sagacity.

And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace.
James 1:5-8 The Passion Translation

Respect and obey the Lord! This is the first step to wisdom and good sense.
God will always be respected. Psalm 111:10 Contemporary English Version

Just make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive. For the ambivalent person believes one minute and doubts the next. Being undecided makes you become like the rough seas driven and tossed by the wind. You’re up one minute and tossed down the next. When you are half-hearted and wavering it leaves you unstable. Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you’re in that condition? James 1:6-8 TPT

“You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” (Matthew 14:21)

And we reply, “I do believe! Help me overcome my unbelief.” (Mark 9:24)

Wisdom is a gift from a generous God, and every word he speaks is full of revelation
and becomes a fountain of understanding within you.
For the Lord has a hidden storehouse of wisdom made accessible to his godly ones.
He becomes your personal bodyguard as you follow his ways,
protecting and guarding you as you choose what is right. Proverbs 2:6-8 TPT

The wisdom that comes from God is first utterly pure, then peace-loving, gentle, approachable, full of tolerant thoughts and kindly actions, with no breath of favoritism or hint of hypocrisy. And the wise are peace-makers who go on quietly sowing for a harvest of righteousness—in other people and in themselves. James 3:17-18 J.B. Phillips New Testament
