“Look at that bird,” said Jenna. “There is something wrong with it.”
The robin was in our garden, hunched and flopped over with its head at an odd angle. It was breathing, but not moving. I moved for a better look.
“What should we do?” I had no idea. There’s a nature sanctuary not far away. If we could catch the bird, we could take it there. But how would we catch the bird without further injury? I had no idea.
“Lord,” I breathed a prayer. “What should we do?”
At that moment the bird righted itself, preened a few feathers, and hopped away.

Look, if you sold a few sparrows, how much money would you get?
A copper coin apiece, perhaps?
And yet your Father in heaven knows when those small sparrows fall to the ground.
You, beloved, are worth so much more than a whole flock of sparrows.
God knows everything about you, even the number of hairs on your head.
So do not fear.
