ABUNDANT: existing or available in large quantities; having plenty of

After yesterday’s post, I began to think about “abundant.” Does the Bible use that word anywhere else? Well, yes.
In the beginning, God created abundantly.
In Genesis 1, we read that “the earth sprouted and abundantly produced vegetation” (v 12 Amp), and the waters swarmed and abundantly produced living creatures (v 20 Amp).
He gives abundantly.
Be glad, people of Zion,
rejoice in the Lord your God,
for he has given you the autumn rains
because he is faithful.
He sends you abundant showers,
both autumn and spring rains, as before. Joel 2:23 NIV
You crown the year with a bountiful harvest;
even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. Psalm 65:11 NLT
Abundance is His very nature …
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
his understanding is beyond measure. Psalm 147:5 English Standard Version
But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15 NIV
May God be blessed, God the father of our Lord Jesus the Messiah!
His mercy is abundant, and so he has become our father in a second birth
into a living hope through the resurrection from the dead of Jesus the Messiah.
1 Peter 1:3 New Testament for Everyone
… And shows in His cares for His children.
Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind! Psalm 31:19 ESV
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,
according to the power at work within us,
to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21 English Standard Version
And His purpose is to share this abundant life – with us.
So, knowing Who God is and what He does,
why do we find that so hard to believe we can have Abundant Life?
