A Broken Remote

Posted on April 2, 2020March 31, 2020 by Pam R

God is great even when things in this world are bad.
His power is shown so clearly when He makes good come
from even the worst situations. Unknown

Something is wrong with the “remote control” of my life. The only button that works every time is “pause.”

I want to “rewind” to better days, but it can’t be done. I try to “fast forward” out of this mess, but nothing happens.

I change the “channel,” but it’s the same program everywhere. Turning up the “volume” makes everything worse, yet I don’t seem to be able to hit “mute.”

I notice that the “home” button works, all day, every day. It seems to be stuck, too.

I check the batteries: they are fine, but I replace them anyway. I reboot everything that reboots. No improvement. I even check the fuse box (I know, I know!).

I must be doing something wrong, but I can’t think what it is. All I want is “control” back. Is that too much to ask?

But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ERV)

Make sure you are plugged in to the source of true power.
Pray. Draw on the power of God at every moment. Unknown

You have let me see troubles and hard times,
but you will give me new life; you will lift me up from this pit of death!
You will help me do even greater things. You will comfort me again!

Psalm 71:20-21 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

I asked for strength…
And God gave me difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for wisdom…
And God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity…
And God gave me a brain and energy to work.
I asked for courage…
And God gave me danger to overcome.
I asked for patience…
And God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait.
I asked for love…
And God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors…
And God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted, but I received everything I needed.
My prayers have been answered;
I am, and have been, most richly blessed.
