A friend of mine, who had actually met and talked with Corrie Ten Boom, told me this story.
**********
Corrie Ten Boom would come out with a heavy suitcase. She would hoist it onto a table and begin to pray.
“Dear Father,” she said, as she lifted out a book and placed it on the table, “I give this worry [or sorrow or fear or problem] to you.”
She repeated this as she continued to remove books and empty the satchel.
Then, with a final “Amen,” she carefully loaded all the books back in, picked up the bag, and exited the stage.
**********
Worrying is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength –
carrying two days at once.
It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time.
Worrying doesn’t empty tomorrow of its sorrow,
it empties today of its strength.
Corrie Ten Boom
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
