It was a quiet, gray morning. I was sitting in my recliner with Hunter on my lap. Out of the corner of my eye I saw wings flapping as a large bird landed on the building in front of me. Vaguely, I wondered what it was. Probably a Canada Goose.
It was. And a few minutes later, I looked up to see a goose making a very careful landing – in a tree! Silly goose!
As her mate watched from the nearby roof, she took a few careful steps up the branch and back down again.
I soon realized that no one was going to believe me without proof. So, dislodging Hunter, I took my phone and went out to record what I was seeing. And imagined their conversation.
[He: “So what do you think, honey?”]
[She: “I’m not sure.”]
[He: “It’s a great neighborhood. And how about that view?”]
[She: “Great view. Nice neighborhood. Still…]
[He: “And there’s even a nursery!”]
[She (with her head into a crevasse that appeared to be filled with grass): So there is.”]
[He: “So what do you think?”]
[She: “I don’t want to be ungrateful, but it’s not what I’m used to. Too small. Let’s keep looking.”]
And with that, she joined him on the roof, and I went back to my seat, wishing someone would come along, look at my pictures and hear my story.
No one did, so I’m sending them to you.
You’re welcome.
Thanks for sharing.
