Don’t panic. I’m with you.
There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.
I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.
I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.
Isaiah 41:10 The Message (MSG)
And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:20b NLT
From my Journal, dated 11/14/99:
I need to record an experience before I forget it.
I remember nothing during my cancer surgery last week from the time I had the
Versed in the holding area to awakening in recovery. Yet I am told that I was awake and able to
cooperate during that time, or part of it.
This caused me great distress. I did not like the fact that my short-term memory was shut down. I did not like not being aware of what happened to me, losing a small piece of my life, as it were.
As I sat thinking about it this week, I was telling God about my dissatisfaction.
“I don’t like it that I wasn’t ‘there,’” I complained.
The Holy Spirit was gentle. “I was.”

God is always “there” for me even when I’m not “there” for myself.
