How can I detach from Chronos long enough to make room for more Kairos? I think the answer lies in those basic Spiritual Disciplines.
**********
Solitude: making space around myself.
When people are around, I focus on them. To hear God, I need to be alone. Solitude is a choice to disconnect from my surroundings and focus on God.
**********
Silence: making space inside my mind.
God speaks with a still, small voice. In order to hear Him, I must silence the busyness in my mind.
I am practicing silence and solitude in order to create space to be in the presence of God.

Stillness: making space by letting go.
The Bible says, Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. Psalm 46:10a Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
In my stillness, I let go of my concerns and worries in the light of His Presence.
**********
Simplicity: making space in my soul.
Simplicity is not complicating the moment, but just being myself with God.
**********
Secrecy: making space for greater faith.
“In the quiet, in the secret place, God waits. In the quiet is where I find Him.”
Nan Jones
God sees us in secret, therefore, let us seek His face in secret.
Thomas Brooks

Slowing: making space in my schedule.
God, teach me to be patient, teach me to go slow.
Helen Steiner Rice
And consider this,
Live in a constant state of expectancy,
and leave room for God to come in as He decides.
Oswald Chambers
