Kindness

Posted on October 25, 2021October 24, 2021 by Pam R

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23 New Living Translation

**********

Kindness is behavior marked by acts of friendliness, generosity, consideration, or concern for others, helping without expecting praise or reward. Its opposite is unkindness and cruelty.

Kindness is Who God is.

The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. Psalm 145:17 NLT

Kindness is What God does.

So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:6-8 NLT

Kindness Is a Choice

What makes someone truly kind is because they keep choosing to be kind. Even if it means having to sacrifice. Or saying no to others.

“When you’re faced with a choice, choose to inspire, choose to empower, choose to stand for those who have lost the will to stand for themselves.”  Orly Wahba, Kindness Boomerang: How to Save the World (and Yourself) Through 365 Daily Acts

Kindness is Love in Action

“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. Luke 6:35 NLT

Kindness Heals.

Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Proverbs 16:24 NLT

Kindness is for You, Too.

Like everyone else, you deserve kindness. So be as kind to yourself as you would be to anyone else. After all, you can’t give what you don’t have. You can’t be truly kind to others if you can’t even be kind to yourself.

You Have Been Chosen and Equipped to be Kind

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Colossians 3:12 NLT

The deeds you do may be the only sermon some persons will hear today.
St. Francis of Assisi
