It is our practice to give Hunter 5 or 6 cat “treats” as a way to entice him out of my room at bedtime. Recently though, we noticed that Hunter was reluctant to head for the “eating place” where his treats awaited him. Even coaxing wasn’t working. We started to worry about his health.
Then one night, as Hunter made a sharp right into the living room instead of a sharp left toward the treats, I had an epiphany. He didn’t like those treats! Immediately I opened a different kind. The response was instantaneous. Hunter planted himself at the eating place with perked ears and wide eyes, watching me get the new bag. I put a few down for him and, in his excitement, he accidently ate a couple of the old treats as he joyfully scarfed the new ones.
It’s no-brainer: would I insist on giving my cat a “treat” he didn’t like, once I knew?

Fortunately, God is a much better care-giver than I:
Every living thing looks to you for food.
You give it to them exactly when they need it.
You open your hand
and satisfy the needs of every living creature.
The Lord is right in everything he does.
He is faithful in everything he does.
Psalm 145:15-17 New International Reader’s Version
And,
I am convinced that my God
will fully satisfy every need you have,
for I have seen the abundant riches of glory
revealed to me through Jesus Christ!
Philippians 4:19 The Passion Translation
So,
With every sun’s rising, surprise us with Your love, satisfy us with Your kindness.
Then we will sing with joy and celebrate every day we are alive. Psalm 90:14 The Voice
And,
Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
Psalm 107:8-9 New Living Translation
Because that is Who He is.
