“The quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment;
the quality of being wise.“

Blessed are those who find wisdom,
those who gain understanding, Proverbs 3:13 NIV

for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her. Proverbs 8:11 NIV

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge.
To know is not to be wise.
Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it.
There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool.
But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.
Charles Spurgeon

If you want to become wise, you must begin by respecting the Lord.
To know the Holy One is to gain understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 New International Reader’s Version

“Not until we have become humble and teachable,
standing in awe of God’s holiness and sovereignty.
Acknowledging our own littleness, distrusting our own thoughts,
and willing to have our minds turned upside down,
can divine wisdom become ours.” J.I. Packer

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 NIV

If you want wisdom, look to God only.
Ask for it confidently.  Eagerly anticipate his response.
He is just as willing to impart his wisdom to you as he did to Solomon. Charles Stanley,  A Touch of His Wisdom

Wisdom is a gift from a generous God,
and every word he speaks is full of revelation
and becomes a fountain of understanding within you.
Proverbs 2:6 The Passion Translation

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12 NIV

As we trust God to give us wisdom for today’s decisions, He will lead us a step at a time into what He wants us to be doing in the future.
Theodore Epp

The wisdom that comes from God is first utterly pure, then peace-loving, gentle, approachable, full of tolerant thoughts and kindly actions, with no breath of favouritism or hint of hypocrisy. And the wise are peace-makers who go on quietly sowing for a harvest of righteousness—in other people and in themselves. James 3:17-18 J.B. Phillips New Testament

“The fruit of wisdom is Christlikeness, peace, humility and love.
And, the root of it is faith in Christ as the manifested wisdom of God.”
J.I. Packer
