PEACE is not the absence of external conflict.
It is the power of internal security.
The Angels said:
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those
on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14
The Disciples said:
“Blessed is the king who comes
in the name of the Lord!”
“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Luke 19:38
Jesus says:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
So I can say:
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8
Because of the empty tomb, we have peace.
Because of His resurrection, we can have peace during
even the most troubling of times
because we know He is in control of all that happens in the world.
