The Account of Creation
Please read these verses from the Bible of your choice or on line (Bible Gateway: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+1%3A1-13&version=NIV )
The observations and comments are from my studies.
Verse 1-2:
God created out of nothing, yet even in the formless chaos, God was there, hovering, protecting His creation. He had a plan. He always has a plan. Surely His plan and protection extend to us.
Verses 3-5:
What God wants, God gets. He has only to speak.
Light is the first step from chaos to order. (It is life-giving, truth-giving, pure.)
In this separation, God created time: the first day – what we call Sunday.
The Light of the World rose on Sunday (John 8:12).
Dark, the “night,” is part of the “good.” Humans need it.
Verses 6-8:
The water was already there (verse 1), but God arranged it for His purpose.
By raising the clouds (waters of the heavens) above the waters of the earth, did God create a greenhouse? (Well, plants were coming the next day!)
This day corresponds to our Monday.
Verses 9-13:
The ground was already there, just covered by the water.
The same day the ground appeared, so did the plants. Life exploded immediately and abundantly.
This is our Tuesday.
The Jews believed that Tuesday was especially blessed because “And God saw that it was good” twice! (verses 10 and 13)
