Labor Day & Work

Posted on September 7, 2026 by Pam R

Work is God-ordained. Gainfully or not, we all still work.

***

The Lord God put the man in the Garden of Eden
to work the soil and take care of the garden.
Genesis 2:15 ERV

***

The Christian faith gives us a new conception of work as the means by which
God loves and cares for his world through us.

Timothy Keller

***

Concentrate on doing your best for God,
work you won’t be ashamed of,

laying out the truth plain and simple.
2 Timothy 2:15 The Message

***

Great occasions for serving God come seldom,
but little ones surround us daily.

Saint Francis de Sales

***

Put God in charge of your work,
then what you’ve planned will take place.
Proverbs 16:3 The Message

***

Don’t bother to give God instructions;
just report for duty.

Corrie Ten Boom

***

Work willingly at whatever you do,
as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward,
and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
Colossians 3:23-24 NLT

***

“Our work for God is to flow from loving God;
thus, we work with Him instead of for Him”
Mike Bickle

***

Happy Labor Day!
Your work on earth is not finished,
because God is not finished with you yet!
