I’m always feeling like I’m lacking wisdom.
This reassurance that one can ask God for that
and it will happen is certainly reassuring to me.

Years ago, I decorated my children’s room by making curtains and bedding. It was my first foray into quilting, and I wasn’t quite sure what to do. After a struggle trying to figure it out, I prayed. “Lord, help me!” He did. The bedding wasn’t perfect, but the room looked exactly how I’d imagined.
God knows how to quilt.

If you don’t have all the wisdom needed for this journey,
then all you have to do is ask God for it;
and God will grant all that you need.
He gives lavishly and never scolds you for asking.

Some years later, something was wrong with the car. Husband and son pored over the engine discussing various solutions. I prayed. “Lord, what’s wrong here?” Immediately the thought came: it’s the battery. I (hesitantly) told my menfolk. They dismissed me, insisting that it couldn’t be.
It was.
God understands automobiles.

Recently, I broke the handle on my toilet. Not wanting to hire a plumber to do something so simple, I bought a new one and installed it. It worked, but not very well. I had to hold it down to achieve a flush. I prayed. “Lord, what am I doing wrong?” Immediately the answer: the chain is too long. I shortened the chain and the problem was solved.
God knows all about plumbing.
