God is still planting gardens. He still tasks us with tending them. I have a sense of urgency when I plant, trying to get things into the ground as quickly as possible so God can take care of them with the soil, sun and rain He provides. Yet I am not finished – there’s still weeding, feeding, and don’t forget, enjoying. The God who planted me in His garden is still at work: weeding, feeding, pruning, tending, and, I hope, enjoying.

We all keep reaching higher –
Like a plant growing a garden,
sometimes the weeds get in the way and take all the energy.
But when the weeds are removed
the plant can grow the way it was meant to grow …
It’s the same with God in our lives …
He is the one that will remove the weeds
and when we let him tend our garden,
that is when we grow the best …
God’s plan is to keep us growing and to keep us reaching …

In simple humility, let our gardener, God,
landscape you with the Word,
making a salvation-garden of your life.
