Grief is a reflection of love, a process of healing,
and a reminder of the enduring impact of those we have lost.
*
My cat, Hunter, is almost 16 years old; that would be over 80 in people years. He has started to show some signs of declining health. And I have begun to grieve.
*
God fully understands grief. He experienced it firsthand, through Jesus.
He [Jesus] was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.
Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
Isaiah 53:3-5 NLT

”There is nothing wrong with falling at the feet of Jesus in silence.
God can hear your tears, He knows your heart, He knows you.
You don’t always have to speak.”

But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted;
you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless.
Psalm 10:14 NIV

Lord,
I pray for hope in the midst of grief.
When the future feels uncertain,
remind me that You are the God of hope.
Fill my heart with peace that strengthens me and joy that lifts my spirit.
Help me to trust that brighter days will come through Your promises.
Thank You for being my hope and my guide through this season of sorrow.
Amen
