Living in the Light

Posted on March 19, 2025 by Pam R

This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you:
God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
1 John 1:5 NLT

***

The fundamental principle of Christianity is to be what God is, and he is light.
John Hagee

***

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said,
“I am the light of the world.
If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness,
because you will have the light that leads to life.”
John 8:12 NLT

***

“When we set our minds against one another,
when we focus on destructive energy
and propagate the negative notions of separation,
division, discrimination, rejection, domination, and war,
we waste our power in a futile attempt to debase, degrade,
and even destroy the light in others.”
‍
John Lewis, Across That Bridge

***

If you are filled with light, with no dark corners,
then your whole life will be radiant,
as though a floodlight were filling you with light.”
Luke 11:36 NLT

***

Blessed and compassionate Lord,
as we face dark times,
grant us the grace to hope in You.
Strengthen our spirits to persevere,
knowing You are with us through these trials.
Give us the gift of optimism so we may see
Your hand and goodness in every situation.
Encourage us to keep trusting
that You will light the path towards better days.
May we find rest in Your loving presence, for Your love never fails.
Teach us to love as You love,
so that we may carry Your light to all corners of our world.

Amen.

***

Because of God’s tender mercy,
the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
and to guide us to the path of peace.”
Luke 1:78-79 NLT

The quotation from John Lewis is certainly on the mark these days. I don’t think I’ve seen it before. Thanks

    Amen
