Make Me an Instrument …

Posted on October 8, 2024 by Pam R

God never intended for us to simply be the objects of His love.
We are also called to be the instruments of that love in the lives of others.

Paul David Tripp

***

Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin.
Instead, give yourselves completely to God,
for you were dead, but now you have new life.
So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
Romans 6:13 NLT

***

God is not looking for extraordinary characters as His instruments,
but He is looking for humble instruments
through whom He can be honored throughout the ages.

A. B. Simpson

***

The weakest instruments are chosen to do the greatest works
so that the glory might go to God.
Paul Washer

***

But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go!
This man [the Apostle Paul] is my chosen instrument
to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.
Acts 9:15 NIV

***

We are gripped by God’s will of love,
and must help carry out that will in this world,
in small things as in great things, in saving as in pardoning.
To be glad instruments of God’s love in this imperfect world
is the service to which we are called.

Albert Schweitzer

***

So if anyone purifies himself from anything dishonorable,
he will be a special instrument, set apart,
useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.
2 Timothy 2:21 Christian Standard Bible

***

Whether you are out in the world, or you’re at home,
you are simply an instrument of God’s love in your universe.

Harold Klemp
