My Aunt Beth left this earth quietly and peacefully just before 8 AM on Friday. For 4 days we waited and hoped. For the next 4 days we just waited.
This wait is over. But more will come. That is just how it is. We wait because we have to, but God uses that waiting.
*****
God uses waiting to transform.
Waiting isn’t just something we have to do until we get what we want.
Waiting is part of the process of becoming what God wants us to be.
John Ortberg
*****
God uses waiting to teach.
The waiting itself is beneficial to us: it tries faith,
exercises patience, trains submission,
and endears the blessing when it comes.
The Lord’s people have always been a waiting people.
Charles Spurgeon
*****
God redeems our waiting.
God, the one and only—
I’ll wait as long as he says.
Everything I hope for comes from him,
so why not?
Psalm 62:5 The Message
*****
And that is why we can wait with hope.
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm,
for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
Hebrews 10:23 NLT
*****
Hope is faith waiting for tomorrow.
John Ortberg
