Anxiety: apprehensive uneasiness or nervousness usually over an impending or anticipated ill
**********
The immediate effects of anxiety can include rapid breathing and/or heart rate, and trembling. Your body is readying itself for fight or flight in the face of danger. This is a normal – and healthy – response.
But some of us seem to be hardwired for anxiety. “Oh, no! What if?” is our go-to response. The problem is, though, that anxiety can have very negative effects on our quality of life and our physical health.
Our bodies were not made to be in a constant state of anxiety. Chronic anxiety with its dizziness, abdominal or chest pain, fatigue, insomnia, headache, and other symptoms, wears us down, and wear us out.
So what to do with anxiety? The Bible and some Bible scholars, have some thoughts.

Tell those who worry, the anxious and fearful,
“Take strength; have courage! There’s nothing to fear.
Look, here—your God! Right here is your God!
The balance is shifting; God will right all wrongs.
None other than God will give you success.
He is coming to make you safe.”
Isaiah 35:4 The Voice
You find no difficulty in trusting the Lord
with the management of the universe and all the outward creation,
and can your case be any more complex or difficult than these,
that you need to be anxious or troubled about His management of it?
Hannah Whitall Smith
Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything.
He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come.
And know that the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding)
will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One.
Philippians 4:6-7 The Voice
“Turn your attention for a while away from the worries and anxieties.
Remind yourself of all your many blessings.”
Ralph Marston
