The Feeding Place

Posted on March 31, 2020March 29, 2020 by Pam R

In Times of Trouble

Posted on March 30, 2020March 29, 2020 by Pam R

Psalm 46 Living Bible (TLB) God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble. 2 And so we need not fear even if the world blows up and the mountains crumble into the sea. 3 Let the oceans roar and foam; let the mountains tremble! Trouble? We’ve got it. Are we endangered? God…

Posted on March 28, 2020March 20, 2020 by Pam R

Medicine for What Ails Us “Laugh, and the world laughs with you: Weep, and you weep alone. For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth, But has trouble enough of its own.” Ella Wheeler Wilcox Ain’t that the truth! Let’s consider laughter’s benefits: > It lowers the levels of at least four stress hormones….

Living in the Shadow

Posted on March 26, 2020March 24, 2020 by Pam R

We live within the shadow of the Almighty, sheltered by the God who is above all gods. Psalm 91:1 Living Bible (TLB) Not what you expected? But the truth is we do live in the shadow of the Almighty, not in the shadow of fear and uncertainty. Unless we choose to. 2 This I declare, that…

Going Out with Joy

Posted on March 25, 2020March 24, 2020 by Pam R

For you shall go out in joy, and be led back in peace…Isaiah 55:12a New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) Yesterday I suggested prayers for the homes of those who are “sheltering in place.” But not everyone can stay home. To those whose jobs provide necessary community support, a big Thank You. We couldn’t get through this…

“Bless This House…

Posted on March 24, 2020March 23, 2020 by Pam R

… Oh, Lord, we pray. Make it safe by night and day.” Stories abound about frightened children, and stir-crazy adults, “sheltering in place” as a precaution. It is so hard to combat an invisible enemy. Many people remain afraid, even in their own homes. But what if, in this time of uncertainty, we began to…

Excerpts from Psalm 31 Common English Bible (CEB) I take refuge in you, Lord. Please never let me be put to shame.        Rescue me by your righteousness!2 Listen closely to me! Deliver me quickly;        be a rock that protects me; be a strong fortress that saves me!3 You are definitely my rock and my fortress.    Guide me and lead me for…

Herbal Remedy?

Posted on March 21, 2020March 20, 2020 by Pam R

My daughter has started adding garlic to everything she cooks. We can’t tell yet if it helps against coronavirus, but it is a slam-dunk in keeping everyone else at a social distance.

What CAN You Do?

Posted on March 20, 2020March 17, 2020 by Pam R

We all know what we can’t/shouldn’t do during this pandemic. Many of us are already not doing those things. But what can we do? Here are some thoughts I found online. First, we can strengthen our own physical health with good nutrition and adequate sleep. Staying active, engaging in hobbies and reaching out (virtually) to…
