1st, Give Yourself …

Posted on December 13, 2021December 12, 2021 by Pam R

Forgiveness

Yes, God has blessed us so much. But the gifting doesn’t stop there. Some things we have to give ourselves. Things like Forgiveness.

“The burden of regret can weigh us down heavily on our spiritual journey.
The best way to release regret is to forgive ourselves.”
James Van Praagh

Forgiving yourself begins by embracing the truth that your heavenly Father has forgiven you.

Lord, who is a God like you? You forgive sin.
You forgive your people when they do what is wrong.
You don’t stay angry forever.
Instead, you take delight in showing your faithful love to them.
Once again you will show loving concern for us.
You will completely wipe out the evil things we’ve done.
You will throw all our sins into the bottom of the sea. Micah 7:18-19 New International Reader’s Version

Forgive yourself for that thing you keep beating yourself up about.

Release the need to replay a negative situation over and over again in your mind.
Don’t become a hostage to your past by always reviewing and reliving your mistakes.
Don’t remind yourself of what should have, could have, or would have been. Release it and let it go.
Les Brown

Forgive yourself for not having the foresight to know what now seems so obvious in hindsight.
Judy Belmont

“Perhaps, if you knew then what you know now you would have done it differently.
You are a different person today. Forgive yourself and move on.”
Germany Kent

“Never forget that to forgive yourself is to release trapped energy that could be doing good work in the world.”
D. Patrick Miller

Lord, grant me the ability to forgive myself for past stumbles and falls, to correct what I can, and accept what I can’t, and the wisdom and courage to try again, this time a bit wiser. (unknown)

Forgiveness is an act of self-love.
When you forgive yourself, self-acceptance begins, and self-love grows.
Miguel Ruiz
